Testing Textures

Connor and I began testing the textures, and it seems that the workflow I discussed last week works in every situation with only some minor adjustments. Something that should have been obvious from the start was that the gradient would not work due to tiling, but it seems that that could be easily fixed by simply using an exaggerated distance when we add in ambient occlusion to the game. Otherwise, we have tested multiple types of materials, and it always creates a Ukiyo-e type feel. Most of the textures will be black and white, in order to allow for variations in color, but for the wood, we wanted to be able to have a few distinct patterns to match up with the colors. Next step for the textures will be to test them in engine. First however, I have to work with Emma to get the character rigged and animated as well as with Jonathan to complete the design of the temple, before finalizing/unwrapping some of the models and texturing them.
